The birth of a name
It started with one central person knowing other fine people who all together build cohesive content solutions across media platforms new and old. In fact, they formed a zeugma. A zeugma (Azoogma) is a figure of speech in which a single common verb or noun links two or more parts of a sentence and because it is tricky to spell we decided to let the sounds speak for themselves. Our central person was our zeugma, and we can be yours – solving complex content problems with linked services in design, translation and localization, writing, communication, and project management.

Translation & Localization
Our group is well suited for you if you are a first-timer or medium sized organization with no internal localization team. We provide you the complete solution starting before translation with support and structure for your localization project so that you look great in every language when it’s all said and done. We work with you to carry out internationalization efforts as needed, explain them to you if you don’t know what they are, develop a customized localization strategy and all the concomitant guides and materials, find the qualified linguists for your particular project, and create a map of your individual process. During the project itself, we manage the production team and quality process, interact with client resources on schedule and budget, and provide content adaptation, writing, and design. We facilitate the client review process to make sure you really got what you wanted, and get you prepared for release or launch and the celebration that goes with it.
Our analytical approach helps businesses look at their projects in a critical manner. If you are a small business or have a fantastic idea that needs grounding, we are your guide to building a strategy and growing your presence. We function as a mentor, advisor, and sounding board through all stages of development rooting for you when you need it, pointing out the places where you may want to change course, and acting as the voice of the consumer to test your ideas. We work with dedicated entrepreneurs who may not have extensive knowledge in consumer behavior and business theory and we translate high-level vision into operational building blocks.

Yannick Nelson has 15 years of experience in program management and the localization industry and an MBA from Arizona State University. She understands the complexity of cultural awareness from growing up in two cultures (France/USA) and the intricacies of managing the big projects from her work in the software, web development, and localization industries. Yannick uses her expertise to mentor clients in new business ventures, as well as manage programs and consult on how to reach new audiences for increased product acceptance. With a love of design, the written word, and working across cultures, Yannick created Azoogma and acts as the Zeugma noun.
Michelle, with an MFA in Writing and Poetics, taught college and graduate level writing and Ancient Literature before bringing her storytelling talent to organizations and individuals in a variety of industries. Michelle is a trained group facilitator and coach, working with clients on communication skills, issues, and strategy. She can frequently be found translating Sanskrit, Latin, or Biblical Hebrew or writing for outlets such as the New York Times. With those skills, Michelle spearheads written content creation for Azoogma.
Mylène, with a Masters in American Literature and Civilization from a French university, translates, edits, tests and researches terminology for a wide array of industries; she also manages teams, provides cultural sensitivity trainings, works on scripts, records voice-overs, and consults on localization. As a professional translator for over 17 years, Mylène is not only accredited by the American Translation Association but also one of their graders for the English to French tests. With her strong emphasis on cultural identity and its applications in localization, communication, and business, Mylène is the language queen at Azoogma.
Kirby has made her way through 15 years of building brands, inspiring and transforming teams, and developing designs. With a BFA in Graphic Design from Louisiana State University and a career path including private and public sector clients from industries as varied as technology, tourism, energy, and education, she uses her team leading skills to create strategic solutions for clients. As the design leader, Kirby lends her impeccable eye and direction to Azoogma.
Brad comes from a marketing background, and has taught himself design and code with the help of the Internet of Things and a lot of trial and error, which led him to a revelation that he wasn’t really doing what we wanted. Combining his new found passion for creative work with his experience in marketing strategy, Brad has developed a truly hybrid skillset that results in more comprehensive creative solutions. At Azoogma, Brad oversees strategic branding, content, print & web design, and developments projects.
